Senior midfielder Kellie Walker was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Walker had two goals and two assists in wins over Arkansas State and Arkansas-Little Rock this weekend, giving her 10 assists on the season and 22 in her career, both Western records.
Walker’s 66 career points rank third all-time, just five away from the program record of 71 set by Jenna Silverberg in 2006.
Western (10-3-1, 5-1 Sun Belt Conference) defeated UALR (5-8-1, 2-3-1 Sun Belt) 5-0 this afternoon behind five first-half goals from four different players.
The match, which was postponed on Friday due to heavy rain in Bowling Green, was the Lady Toppers’ highest-scoring outing this season.
After an own-goal four minutes into the match, sophomore forwards Kaylyn Pratt and Mallory Outerbridge both scored their fourth goals of the season. Freshman midfielder Courtney Rymer and sophomore midfielder Lindsay Williams scored in the last four minutes of the first half.
With an assist on Outerbridge’s goal, senior midfielder Kellie Walker tallied her 10th assist of the season and 22nd of her career. Both are program records.
