Western’s intramural dodgeball team is hosting a five-team tournament at the Raymond B. Preston Center throughout the day Saturday.
Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. Tournament T-shirts are being sold for $10, with all proceeds going to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Events began at noon and should run until about 5 p.m.
Western, Kent State, Miami of Ohio, Ohio State and Northwestern State (La.) are competing in 15-on-15 games consisting of two 25-minute halves.
Western senior Josh Raymer, founder of the dodgeball team, said he hopes the event will raise $1,500, but won’t be disappointed if they come up short.
“If we can get $1,000, I’ll be happy,” Raymer said.
Western’s next game is scheduled for 3 p.m. against Ohio State.
