Western has struck a deal for a 13th game in the 2012 season.
The Toppers will travel to Hawaii to play on Dec. 1, 2012, in an all-expenses-paid trip courtesy of the University of Hawaii, according to Athletics Director Wood Selig.
The game will be played at Aloha Stadium, site of the 2009 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, and will not count against potential bowl eligibility — meaning Western will play a possible 14 games in the 2012 season.
“I am really excited about this game,” Head Coach Willie Taggart said. “It gives us an extra regular-season game and a chance to compete against a very good football program in a great environment. The experience will also resemble a bowl game in many ways.”
