Head Coach Ken McDonald said junior forward Sergio Kerusch will visit the doctor Wednesday and hopes his third-leading scorer will be back for the Toppers’ game against Louisiana-Monroe on Feb. 4.
“I told him, ‘Make sure the doctor calls and lets us know if he’s going to be cleared,'” McDonald said. “Because I know if Serge comes back with the answer, he’ll lie and tell us he’s ready to play tomorrow.”
Ideally, McDonald said Kerusch will be cleared to walk and run today, get back to practice and then be ready to play in about a week.
But ultimately, the decision is up to the doctor, according to McDonald.
“This has zero to do with my opinion,” McDonald said. “We’re being very cautious.”
