Neidell gets 100th career win

The Lady Toppers wrapped up their first weekend of conference road games with a 1-0 overtime win over Troy.

The win gave coach Jason Neidell his 100th career win in just his ninth season with the Lady Toppers.

Redshirt junior midfielder Nikki Workman scored 43 seconds into the first overtime period from 25 yards out off an assist by senior midfielder Kellie Walker. Sophomore goalkeeper Libby Stout only needed to make one save to record the shutout.

The Lady Toppers (8-3-1) outshot the Lady Trojans (6-5-1) 20-5, and Neidell said his team did a good job of controlling possession the entire game.

The Lady Toppers are now 3-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.

They play at home against Arkansas-Little Rock at 6 p.m. on Friday and Arkansas at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Check tomorrow’s Herald for more on Neidell’s accomplishment.
