Tops survive, beat Jaguars 67-59

Another close game, another Western victory.

This time it was a 67-59 win over South Alabama in front of a national television audience on Saturday at Diddle Arena.

Western and South Alabama were tied at 59-59, but sophomore guard Steffphon Pettigrew hit a three-pointer to put Western up. He finished with 13 points.

Anthony Sally then tacked on four free throws on consecutive trips to seal the victory.

Western stretched their home winning streak to 12 games, and were led by senior Orlando Mendez-Valdez’s 24 points.
